Folklore Festival “Marelandia” Cesenatico is the biggest and the most visited folklore festival on the Adriatic coast of Rimini, welcoming 20–25 participating ensembles per edition. It stands out for its spectacular scenery, open-air stage in the central Piazza Andrea Costa, and impressive parade of groups through the famous, picturesque and breathtaking Canal Leonardesco!

Participants enjoy sandy beaches, a boat trip with lunch, lots of fun at the amusement park “Mirabilandia”, and unforgettable excursions to San Marino, Bologna and Ravenna Safari Park.

REGULATIONS

Folklore dance groups, choirs, majorettes and musical bands from around the world are warmly invited to participate in this international folklore festival, held in Cesenatico, a charming seaside town on Italy’s Adriatic coast, just a short distance from Rimini.

Every group will perform once and it should prepare program up to 8 minutes.

Performances with live and music recorded are both allowed.

The age and the maximum number of dancers in the group are not limited. The minimum number of the group members for accommodation is 15. Adult, youth and children ensembles are welcome. Soloists are not accepted.

Family members and friends may join this folklore festival and travel to Italy for the same price.

The accommodation of the groups is provided in 3* hotels like HOTEL CANASTA , HOTEL PLAYA , HOTEL LA TORRE RIMINI or any other hotel of the same category, in triple and quadruple rooms, and it includes 5 nights with half-board (breakfast-buffet and dinner -3 course served). All hotels are located maximally 200m from the beach. All hotels are carefully selected and have been trusted, reliable partners of our festivals for many years.

Upon special request, we can arrange accommodation in a higher hotel category for an additional supplement of €20 per person, per day.

The hotel will be assigned to every group based on the requested rooming of all groups. The final program with the logistics, timing and all the details about the hotel in which you will be accommodated will be sent to you 3 weeks before the arrival.

Accommodation for 1 person is free of charge if you have more than 25 persons in the group. Accommodation for 2 persons is free of charge if you have more than 42 persons in the group.

The nearest airports are: Rimini and Bologna.

We are also able to assist you with airport transfers and organize additional excursions upon request. To ensure availability, please contact us at least four months in advance to request a quotation and confirm the availability of buses and transfer services.

PAYMENT

As confirmation of its participation in this folklore festival, a group pays 2000€ in advance and the rest not later than 15 days before the festival by bank transfer.

This deposit is non-reimbursable if you later decide not to come, for any reason. In case of unexpected circumstances or Force Majeure, the organizer reserves the right to change the date of the event or to postpone it for the next year.

PRELIMINARY PROGRAM OF THE FESTIVAL

JUNE 30
The groups should arrive to the hotel in Rimini between 14:00 and 19:00 where they will be welcomed and referred to the program.

JULY 1^st
We suggest relaxing on the beach whole day as the folklore festival will be held in the evening in Cesenatico (big open air stage with fabulous atmosphere on the central square). Before performances we will have big parade of participants in picturesque Porto Canale Leonardesco in Cesenatico.

JULY 2^nd
During the day we organize a dolphin watching cruise with a fish lunch on board , drinks and music. In the evening we organize boat tour and party with music on board.

JULY 3^rd
We suggest visiting San Marino or Safari in Ravena. You may also enjoy amusement park Mirabilandia and Italia in Miniatura.

JULY 4^th
We suggest visiting Bologna or just relaxing on the beach.

JULY 5^th
You should leave the hotel after the breakfast.

Notification

The exact time of the beginning and the ending of the folklore festival will be announced later. Program on the day of the festival must be respected. Groups are required to adjust their bus transport according to the program and are supposed to be present at the awarding ceremony!
